About the Project / Scheme

The European Commission & the Govt. of India (GOI) commenced the Sector Investment Programme (SIP) in the area of Health & Family Welfare. This programme assists the initiative of the GOI and the State Governments in Reproductive & Child Health (RCH). The programme emphasizes REFORMS in the HEALTH & FAMILY WELFARE SECTOR.

The programme has following priorities, with key words being Decentralization, Quality Improvement & Sustainability.

Local (district or lower) level Operational reforms.
State & National level Policy and Operational reforms.
Pilots & Developmental activities.
Support to RCH/FW Programme

This programme is being implemented in State, Satara Dist.& Aurangabad Municipal Corporation & 9 other districts (Nagpur, Bhandara, Gondia, Wardha, Yeotmal, Akola, Amravati, Buldhana and Washim). The programme is implemented by the State Family Welfare Bureau, Pune & is monitored by a Sector Reform Cell, which is chaired by the Principal Secretary & Commissioner (Family Welfare).

FINANCIAL OUTLAY:

Total Outlay : Rs. 46.90 Crores

Expenditure: Rs. 22 .42 Crores (up to Sept. 2005 including Advances)

MoU Signed in 2001

Programme ends by December 2006
