Early
treatment is important
1. Complete bed rest
2. Proper diet
and nutrition
3. Antibiotics-Many antibiotics are effective against typhoid fever.Ciprofloxacin
is drug of choice at present.Cotrimoxazole, Amoxycillin and Trimethoprin
are effective. Chloramphenicol can be used if bacteria is sensitive
to it. For carrier, intensive course of Ampicillin with probenecid
is given for six weeks.
