About Us
The Public Health Department Government of Maharashtra, is making
constant and concerted effort to formulate and execute schemes to
ensure adequate health
care services to the people in line with
the National Health Policy. While implementing these schemes, steps
are being taken to make improvements in the
health care system in the State to cater
to the health needs of the people in the rural areas, particularly
in the tribal and backward regions of the State.

To provide adequate and qualitative preventive and curative health
care to the people of the State.

To ensure greater access to primary health care by bringing medical
institutions as close to the people
as possible or through mobile health units,
particularly in the under-served
and backward districts. |

To improve maternal and child health with a view to reducing maternal
and infant mortality. |

To improve hospital services at the secondary levels
both in terms of infrastructure and
personnel. |

To give training to doctors, nurses and other paramedical staff
